About the Programme/Sector

We are currently offering a fantastic new career opportunity to work as an Apprentice Administrator/Receptionist with us at GFT. This is an excellent opportunity to earn, learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification in Business Administration at Level 3. Full training for this role will be provided and career progression will be offered for candidates who are successful.

Duties of the Role

To provide a first-class front-line customer service for clients, learners, and staff of Gordon Franks Training, in a manner conducive to the professional image of the Company and in accordance with the Common Inspection Framework. To provide full clerical back-up for all departments. Key responsibilities will include:


- Ensure good housekeeping and that reception is locked prior to leaving
- Meet and greet visitors to the Company in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner, ensuring they are directed/escorted to their correct destination
- Answer telephone in a professional manner, direct calls to the correct destination, take messages when appropriate and ensure they are delivered immediately
- Distribute all internal post to the Managing Director or Line Manager immediately
- Prepare outgoing mail each day ensuring correct postage is applied and dispatch to post office prior to close of day; ensure sufficient postage is purchased
- Ensure sufficient supply of learner application forms is available at all times
- Pass notification of staff/student absences of absences via telephone/email without delay


- Undertake general printing, copying, typing, and filing duties
- Prepare learner start files and accompanying learner start letters
- Issue start letters as instructed for all programmes and prepare sufficient induction packs to meet those requirements, ensuring that timescales are met
- Produce Bursary and Consent packs for Induction students within timescales
- To prepare enrolment documents and enter student data onto MIS system
- Maintain supply of centre documentation
- Maintain supply of stationery and consumables for the centre
- To comply with company data protection procedures and operate within GDPR
- Create sufficient Pre-Apprenticeship folders in compliance with master folder
- To comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and assist GFT in the implementation of its own Health and Safety Policy
- To comply with and actively promote GFT Equal Opportunities Policy
- To contribute to the ‘Self-Assessment Process’ by working within the guidelines of the Common -Inspection Framework
- To undertake any other relevant duties as specified by your line manager, commensurate with the level of this post

- Age 16-18: GCSEs (or equivalent) in maths and English
- Age 19+: GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) in maths and English

Duration, Pay & Award

After 15 Months you will achieve a Business Administrator Level 3 (Standard) with this apprenticeship.
The base salary is National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage.
